Nora Martin
LSW

Hello, my name is Nora Martin and I am a Licensed Social Worker and individual psychotherapist. I am passionate about working with individuals of all ages and am committed to creating a client-centered, non-judgemental space grounded in warmth, patience, and care. I believe that my clients are the experts of their own lives and I am dedicated to working collaboratively in order to help them effectively implement changes in their lives to reach their goals.

My educational background includes a Masters in Social Work from University of Illinois Chicago, as well as a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in women and gender studies from DePaul University. Before my time with BSG, I interned in the pediatric unit of a hospital, where I had the opportunity to work with and support children and families through particularly stressful times. This experience informs my ability to support clients from all walks of life who are looking for help with navigating difficult circumstances.

I practice through a flexible and integrative psychodynamic approach and incorporate other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths Based Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am particularly interested in helping clients build confidence, strengthen their sense of identity, and develop tools to live a meaningful life.

In my free time I enjoy doing pottery, spending time with my cat Lucky, and reading (especially historical fiction)!
